A double exponential function is a constant raised to the power of an exponential function. The term hyper-exponential function[1][2][3] is also used, although that term can also refer to tetration. Examples include:
- Double Mersenne numbers
- Fermat numbers
- Mills primes
- Sylvester's sequence
- The largest known prime as a rough function of the number of years since the discovery of 180 * (2127 - 1)2 + 1 in 1951
- The number of non-self-crossing paths in a game of Tower of Hanoi as a function of the number of discs
- The suffix -duplex/-plexplex/-plexian/-plusplex
- The fuga- prefix also falls around that range, although it is slightly faster.
