The Epstein system is an -illion system by Louis Epstein devised in the 1980s.[1] It is based on the long scale rather than short scale unlike most -illion systems. The commonly accepted vocabulary of the long scale gives out at 10600 with the centillion. In the Epstein system numbers continue with SI prefixes representing the powers of a million:
- 1,000,0001,000=106,000=1 kilillion
- 1,000,0001,000,000=106,000,000=1 megillion
- 1,000,0001,000,000,000=106,000,000,000=1 gigillion
- 1,000,0001,000,000,000,000=106,000,000,000,000=1 terillion
- 1,000,0001015=1 petillion
- 1,000,0001018=1 exillion
- 1,000,0001021=1 zettillion
- 1,000,0001024=1 yottillion
These names should not be confused with much larger names for Tier 3 short scale -illions by Jonathan Bowers.
