I propose to destroy the Number Navigator:

  • It highlights the disadvantages of a doubly linked list; every time a new number is added, two more pages have to be updated.
  • It imposes a strict ordering of googologisms whose sizes we aren't sure about yet. Ex. if Wythagoras decides to publish his dollar function off-site and we enter everything back over here, we have to go over all these comparisons against his numbers and BEAF.  Every time we correct ourselves, we have to go through the whole process of relinking the Navigator.
  • The Number Navigator's purpose is to show orderings of numbers and create a "guided tour" throughout googologisms. But navigational boxes already do that, and we have List of googologisms when all else fails.

In general, it's ugly, unnecessary, and adds way more work than we need. Any thoughts? FB100Ztalkcontribs 23:14, September 28, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, probably you right. But then we have to edit thousands of pages when the Number Navigator already appears. Ikosarakt1 (talk ^ contribs) 08:07, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
I think second dot is best point why to delete navigator. Can't we make a bot which would do that? LittlePeng9 (talk) 09:50, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I'll have GoogolBot do this if enough people agree. FB100Ztalkcontribs 19:51, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
About publishing Dollar Function off-site:  No, I'm not going to do that, at least not in the near future. So that shouldn't be the reason why to remove the number navigator. Wythagoras (talk) 18:40, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
It was just an example. FB100Ztalkcontribs 19:51, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, when you remove all number navigators, please don't delete the template itself, as it has been used on many pages (1,596 as of 07:37, September 29, 2013 UTC) and should left as a historical reference. Add a note that it is no longer being used. (Edit: Also, unprotect it.) -- I want more clouds! 00:37, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

By the way, List of googologisms needs to be updated. I'll do it when I have free time. -- I want more clouds! 00:32, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
