The tetentet is equal to s(4,4,4,4) in strong array notation.[1] It can be represented in chained arrow notation as \(4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\).

This number is also equal to s(4,4,1,5), s(4,1,1,6), s(4,4,1,1,2), s(4,1,1,2,2), or s(4,1,1,1,1,2).

Etymology[]

The name of this number is based on Greek prefix tetra- (four), meaning that there are 4 4's in the array.

Approximations[]

Notation Approximation
Bowers' Exploding Array Function \(\{4,5,3,4\}\)
Chained arrow notation \(4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\rightarrow4\) (exact)
Hyper-E notation \(E2\#\#2\#\#2\#\#1\#1\#(E2\#\#27\#26\#2)\#3\)
Hyperfactorial array notation \((((4![1,2])![2,3])![2,3])![2,3]\)
Fast-growing hierarchy \(f_{\omega3+3}(4)\)
Hardy hierarchy \(H_{\omega^{\omega3+3}}(4)\)
Slow-growing hierarchy \(g_{\varphi(3,2,0)}(4)\)
