There probably isn't, but if there somehow is it would be a dream come true. Despite my efforts in trying to put a hard ban on all those ridiculous categories, it's been near impossible to get people to pay attention to all this (though how much of it is just that one obsessive IP is unknown to me). A few of us already discussed in a prior thread what categories should and shouldn't be on the wiki.

I'd also love it if there was a way to purge all occurrences of a certain category for a wiki (like numbers with 25 to 42 digits or whatever the hell). Unfortunately, I doubt there is. God, Wikia is such a terrible website.

I haven't been as active lately, since I made those proposal blog posts. From looking at the wiki's activity, it's clear that the wiki has become a shithole where people constantly make useless pages and edits, others delete them out of logic, and then others bring them back like nothing happened, all over again. Fixing it would be great, but it's far beyond my concern; I have better things to do with my life.

I might still stop by here sometimes, but don't count on me being active. Good luck to all the users who actually contribute meaningfully to this place, especially the veterans I've known for years. I advise stronger moderation on which pages are useful or not to have and all those ridiculous categories. Maybe properly enforce rules a…

    Another proposal

    March 24, 2018 by Cookiefonster

I've noticed that when pages on numbers list all the different names people have given them, they phrase it in a way I don't like at all: "[person] calls this number [name]." It makes it sound like they're the names each of those people actually use to call those numbers in all their work, instead of just different names devised for the same number.

Other people may feel differently, but to speaking personally, things like all those extensions to Bowers' names for BEAF constructions that I devised years ago aren't anything I would say I "call" them, especially not in contrast to the names Bowers himself would devise later on in his updates to his large number pages. Hell, I don't even remember coming up with half of those names.

    I suggest, i…

I know I said I would leave this wiki, but I'm here to propose a rule to stop something I deem highly disruptive and wasteful to this wiki.

A lot of people have been making categories for things like "2 times square", "5 times square", humble numbers, squarefree numbers, non-pandigital numbers, sphenic numbers, semiprimes, Fibonacci numbers, repdigits... it goes on.

I propose a rule where we ban giving numbers any categories based on numerical properties except for prime numbers, non-powers, and maybe perfect powers of a base no more than 10. It seems to me like a thing people just do when bored, rather than due to serious interest in maintaining a professional and well-organized wiki. The furthest I'm willing to go with these categories is giv…

We can't let Edwin win, but he's incredibly tough to stop. Is it fair if we just flat out block any new accounts who haven't already contributed to the wiki from contributing for the time being until he gives up? He's completely raiding this place. Kind of sucks that I don't even know if it's possible to do that on a Wikia. One forum I used to go on blocked people from making new accounts at all while it was being raided, and unfortuantely it seems like we are going to have to go to this level.
